(60 x 2) x 2 = 240
…that’s my new target. With OffBeatInk.com making $60 per month, I want to double it – hence the first “x2″ – then creating a second blog with the same earnings…thus bringing in $240 per month ($120 x 2 blogs).
My initial target was $150 per month but with hosting costs, the effort I put into my sites (and because I always want more!), I’ve increased this target to a new level.
I will continue to post 6 times per week (Mon – Sat) on OffBeatInk.com with unique content and videos. Each month I intend to spend some money on promotion and will trial new methods of advertising I haven’t used before. More on that later!
My latest project will focus on a heavily searched keyword – gadgets. I have a cool, brandable domain that is easy to remember. Me being me, I’m not revealing it just yet. I also have a professional but clean wordpress theme to work with too and I am really excited about launching my new site.
I would like my new project to be earning $60 after month two like OffBeatInk.com. By this time – February – I then intend to concentrate on increasing the income from both these streams rather than starting a third project. I don’t want to take on too much at one time as I generally spend around 45 mins per day on OffBeatInk.com.
As time progresses and OffBeatInk.com finds a position in SERP’s, natural traffic will increase the site’ s overall exposure and thus have a positive knock-on effect on my earnings. If my gadget project follows (fingers crossed!), perhaps $240 will follow in the footsteps of my $150 target and become redundant?
Good luck with your persuits,
Khalid.

Haven’t posted a comment in a while, because it kept asking for the confirmation field but didn’t show it.

Ok now I seem to be able to comment. I’ve been trying since you got the new blog up. Anyhoo…
I think the traffic you have for offbeat ink is fantastic. However, I know you can make a lot more than you are right now. I really think you need to open it up with private advertising on a blog like this. Valuclick just ain’t cutting it.
I think some 125×125 buttons would work well. Let them go cheap at first, until the positions fill out. Maybe 6 positions @ $15-$30 a month each or so. Not sure, but you have try and see what results you get.
Glad you will keep the posting up regularly. With your growing audience, you may be able to find a few guest posters to help out a bit.

Hey Marc,
Glad to see you back on the blog! Before I had a comment error and Josh Buckley brought them to my attention.
I’m hoping to continue monetizing the site and perhaps get a few others on board. How do you think I should market the 125 x 125 boxes…where?
Thank you for your comments!

Glad that you’re glad to see me back.
Right,
I think that you might have to modify the template a bit to flesh it out to it’s full extent, but I realise that will be added expense. So in the meantime, perhaps add one or two at the top of the right hand column. Above or below the search field would be ideal. Depending on your theme, this may be fairly easy to slip right in. In the longer run, I’d say have 4-6 spots of 125×125 that are two abreast in the right hand column. I realise that would require modifications to the template theme, so that may not be an immediate option.
I don’t know much about the monetisation of tattoos, but I do know that you have a very a considerable and focused audience. That is SO VERY DEFINITELY worth more than you are actually making off them at the moment. I suggest private ads because other than independent tattoo artists, I don’t know where the money comes from in this niche.
However, there may be other tangential markets that rub shoulders with tattoos. Maybe some tattoo mags would have some good potential sponsors. Also in the US, public interest in tattoos seems to be at an all time high. There are a couple shows on TV over here (US) at the moment. Miami Ink and LA Ink. You are probably already familiar with them.
That all said, I think there are some good possibilities, I just don’t know the business well enough to advise on specifics. Hope that helps.
